Our Story
Why MindVela exists — and the heart behind it
There are moments in life that split everything into before and after.
Losing my mum was mine.
She was the most caring, adorable lady. The kind of person everybody loved without even trying to. So incredibly kind. The sort of warmth you don't realise is holding you together until it's gone. My two young children adored her. She adored them. That bond was one of the most beautiful things I've ever seen.
And then, suddenly, she was gone.
I won't pretend I have the words to describe what that felt like. Three years on, it still hurts to write this. Grief doesn't politely wait for you to be ready. It tore my heart to pieces and it still does to this day.
What Nobody Tells You About Grief
The support in those early days was incredible. People showed up. I wasn't alone.
But grief doesn't follow a schedule.
After a certain point, the world just moved on. Everyone around me carried on with their lives, as they should. But I hadn't moved on. I couldn't. And I started to wonder if something was wrong with me.
Because grief wasn't just one thing. It wasn't just the sudden loss, and yes it was very sudden. It came in stages, each one different, each one just as hard. Incredible sadness. Then anger. Then stress and anxiety. Then a deep emotional loss that was almost unbearable. Support was great during that time, but after a specific point I realised everyone just moves on. I didn't. And I assume others don't either.
Everything out there felt robotic or unattached. Like it was built by someone who had never actually sat with grief at 2am. I needed something human. Something that understood. So I built it.
Why MindVela Exists
MindVela started as a way to channel my loss into something to remember my mum by. A human connection. Not just a website like others. This is different.
What started as a project to help with grief quietly grew into something much bigger. I branched the website out into multiple sections, all created by myself with help from AI tools to get everything ready.
There is original music I created myself, available on the website. Every song is linked directly to the brand and the feeling behind it. There is a kids section, because children also have their own struggles and they deserve support too. The entire kids section is completely free and will remain free forever. There are books I have written, available on the site and on Amazon. Grief kits. Wellbeing tools. A space to share reflections anonymously. The Lantern Kit, a gentle companion for those experiencing loss. And so much more.
This started as a project to help with grief. It is now a hidden gem of a universe waiting to be seen.
This Is Different
MindVela is for YOU. With a human touch, because I understand the struggles of day to day life and all I aim to do is help as many people as I can.
That is what my beloved mum always did. And I will ensure I follow the same path.
If you are struggling with grief, anxiety, stress, or just the noise of everyday life, you belong here. If your child is going through something difficult, there is a space here for them too.
MindVela is not just a website. It is something built from real pain, real love, and a genuine desire to help.
Come in. Stay a while. You are not alone.
